Wishes of an Old Man Looking Back — Sculptor

I often wondered as I approached retirement age if there would be life after I crossed over the 70 year old boundary line. Well, I’ve crossed over that line. Yes, there is life, but precious little of it left when I look forward in time. But when I look back, I discover a life of unfulfilled wishes. Oddly enough, I wished I had had the talent to become a sculptor.

But I lacked the talent, the drive and support to devote my life to sculpturing. So I trudged on forward in my middle class life and fulfilled the expectations of what a college graduate should become. But these days whenever I pick up a stone, I feel a life force pulsating inside.
