Negishi Forest Park in Faux Oils

Negishi Forest Park in Faux Oils

As I grow older, I find simple enjoyments in the walks I take in parks. On an overcast Sunday early in April, I rode the 103 Bus to Yokohama’s Negishi Forest Park. In my younger days I ran around the perimeter of the park along with the other joggers. On that Sunday I simply sat down on a bench and watched the people resting on blue tarpaulin spread out on the grass. I watched mothers and fathers playing with their children. How quickly we grow old. How quickly children grow up and move away. Memories flooded through my mind. I took some photos, but I could no longer bear to watch the scenes unfolding in front of me. Oh, Lord, I thought, I grew old too quickly.
